This subscription exists because I cannot walk past a flower without stopping.
I’ve always been the person on the trail slowing everyone down — stopping to look at every wildflower, every strange rock, every tiny detail most people walk right past. Over time that curiosity turned into sketches, stories, and a deep fascination with the quiet things growing all around us.
The Field Guide Archive is my way of sharing those discoveries with you.
The trail taught me to slow down.
And the more I stopped, the more curious I became about the quiet life happening all around us.
Eventually that curiosity turned into sketches, research, and a growing fascination with the stories hidden in the landscape.
The Field Guide Archive is my way of sharing those discoveries.
Each month, you’ll receive an archival envelope containing a new study inspired by something I’ve encountered out in the wild — sometimes a flower, sometimes an insect, a rock formation, an animal, or another curious detail from the natural world.
Inside you'll find a finished study along with sketches and field notes exploring the story behind it — where it can be found, the folklore or history tied to it, and the small details that make it fascinating.
Every subject in the archive is something I’ve actually come across while wandering the trails of the American West — something I stopped for, studied, sketched, and then went down the rabbit hole learning about.
These envelopes are little pieces of those adventures.
Over time, the collection becomes a growing archive of sketches, stories, and discoveries from the landscapes that inspire the work.
A little art.
A little folklore.
A little curiosity from the trail.
For collectors, hikers, curious minds, and anyone who believes the smallest things in nature can be the most profound — if you just take a moment to stop and look.
