Field Guide Archive - Monthly Print Dispatch
I’ve always been the person on the trail slowing everyone down—stopping to look at every wildflower, every strange rock, every tiny detail most people walk right past. Over time, that curiosity turned into sketches, stories, and a deep fascination with the quiet things growing all around us.
The trail taught me to slow down.
And the more I stopped, the more there was to notice.
Eventually, that curiosity turned into sketching, researching, and uncovering the stories hidden in the landscape.
The Field Guide Archive is my way of sharing those discoveries with you.
Each month, you’ll receive an archival envelope—your own small collection from the field.
Inside, you’ll find:
• A finished 5×7 study inspired by something I’ve encountered in the wild
• Sketches and process work from my notebook
• Field notes exploring where it can be found, along with its history, folklore, or significance
Sometimes it’s a wildflower.
Sometimes an insect, an animal, or a place.
Always something I stopped for.
Every subject in the archive is something I’ve personally come across while wandering the American West—something I paused to study, sketch, and then dove deeper into understanding.
These envelopes are small pieces of those adventures.
Over time, they become a growing archive of sketches, stories, and discoveries—collected from the landscapes that inspire the work.
A little art.
A little folklore.
A little curiosity from the trail.
For collectors, hikers, and anyone who believes the smallest things in nature can be the most meaningful—
if you just take a moment to stop and look.
